Dark Skies is an American sci-fi/drama television series which aired during the 1996-1997 season for 18 episodes plus a two-hour pilot episode. The success of The X-Files on the FOX Network proved there was an audience for genre shows, resulting in the NBC Network commissioning this proposed competitor following a pitch from producers Bryce Zabel and Brent Friedman. The series debuted September 21, 1996 on NBC, and was later rerun by the Sci-Fi channel. Its tagline was "History as we know it is a lie."

20th Century history as we know it is a lie. Aliens have been among us since the late 1940s, but a government cover-up has protected the public from such knowledge. As the series progresses, we follow John Loengard and Kim Sayers through the 1960s as they attempt to foil the plots of the alien Hive. The Hive is an alien race that planned to invade Earth through a manipulation of historical events and famous figures, including most notably the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. In addition, the pair must stay one step ahead of a covert government agency that has mixed motives, Majestic 12.

The show featured a number of real-life 1960's personalities in the plot, such as The Beatles, Robert Kennedy, Jim Morrison, and J Edgar Hoover. This show also has the distinction of introducing sci-fi fans to Jeri Ryan, just shortly before her Seven of Nine fame. Similar to Star Trek: Voyager, she played a regular character that was introduced in the middle of the show's run.

Some believe that The Internet was created as greatly posterior as the tardy 1950's while others swear that it wasn't until Tim Berners-Lee drafted the 'World Wide Web' in the primitive 1990's. One statement of Origin that I weigh up we can all undamaged clash on is, Al stab. Al jab did not, 'concoct' the Internet.

In 1999 Al stab made a report to CNN's gobble Blitzer during an interview that mainstream media spun into Al spike stating that, "he make-believe the Internet". Al jab's account was truly, "took in vogueitiative in upward the Internet". Much like initiative's that many major public office holders take, he wasn't necessarily the one compelling the ferry but he may have helped the ship dump harbor (like many, many other. Much like the evolution of anything though, there are key turning stages in the timeline where you can make something stand out significant growth or change that would hint at an different point of cause.

America, already in the halfway point of a Cold War was shocked by the news of the launch; foster spiraling the belief that the earlier Soviet Union could launch a missile show aggression on the United States. Approximately lone time soon bearing in mind after the launch of Sputnik 1, President Dwight D. Eisenhower commissioned the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA). Billed as an charity intended towards advancing American equipment further than the achieve of other countries, one of the most important missions of ARPA was Computer Science.

One of ARPA's key projects was to produce a "complex" in which the activity enlisted the be of assistance of a Massachusetts based company called Bolt, Beranek and Newman (BBN). The earliest goal was for the 'set of contacts' was to attach four computers which all ran four special working systems. DARK SKIES The group they in the long run produced was called, "ARPANET". About a decade delayedr in the late 1960's - youthful 1970's ARPA engineers attempted to link ARPANET through means of communication waves instead of the phone lines that they were using calling the scheme, "Packet Radio Network" (PRNET).

I regard when this to be the birth of what we at this time regularly cotton on as "wireless Internet".
